Gildenglitz™ leaf is made from a combination of brass,
copper and aluminum or metal alloys. Variegated leaf is
made by a special process to bring out gorgeous natural
colors such as magentas, coppers, blues, greens and
golds.
Gildenglitz™ is suitable for every level and type of gilding
on virtually any surface including paper, fabric, wood,
plastic, metal, glass and ceramic. It will adhere with wet or
dry adhesives to flat or irregular surfaces. Ordinary objects
will glow with the warmth and richness of precious metals.
Tips and Techniques
Important: When using Duo™ for gilding, dry pigments and embossing, always allow it to dry
completely. It will turn clear and tacky.
THE GILDED IMAGE - Brush Duo™ Adhesive onto a stamp using a soft, flat brush. Stamp quickly and
wash your stamp immediately. Let the adhesive dry. (You will know when it is dry when it turns clear.)
Dip the tip of a dry brush into dry Jewelz™ Powdered Pigments and brush on the pigment in selected
spots of your stamped image. Apply Gildenglitz™ to the entire stamped image. Brush off and burnish
using a Texture Sponge. No spray or coating is needed.
SUPERB GILDING - Brush a coat of Duo™ Adhesive over a piece of Folia Card Stock. Let dry. Use
your fingers to lay down larger pieces of Gildenglitz™ in Gold, Copper and Silver onto the tacky surface.
Burnish using a Texture Sponge.
3-D GILDING - Gildenglitz™ works perfect on textured surfaces. Use air dry or polymer clays to make
beads, tiles, shapes and other embellishments. Apply a coat of Duo™ Adhesive and let dry. Apply
Gildenglitz™. Use a Texture Sponge or soft brush to burnish and get all the excess out of the cracks
and crevices.
GILDED CALLIGRAPHY - The Fine Liner™ is perfect for calligraphy, fine detail work and tracing. Apply
a drop of Duo™ Adhesive to the reservoir of The Fine Liner™. Tap the tip to get rid of any air bubbles.
Let the adhesive dry. If desired add dry Jewelz™ Powdered Pigments to selected areas. Apply
Gildenglitz™ and burnish.
HAMMERED METAL - Dab Duo™ Adhesive onto a piece of Folia Card Stock with a Texture Sponge.
Let the adhesive dry. Tap antique colors of dry Jewelz™ Powdered Pigments onto selected areas using
a dry brush. Do not wipe off. Add Gildenglitz™ and burnish.
ALLUSION GILDING - Brush a coat of Duo™ Adhesive over a piece of Folia Card Stock. Let dry. Use
your fingers to lay down larger pieces of Gildenglitz™ onto the tacky surface. Burnish using a Texture
Sponge. Use a Cut N' Dry Foam Pad to apply Perfect Paper Adhesive™ to a rubber stamp. Stamp
down directly onto the gild. Notice how the PPA changes the color of the gild.
