WORKSHOPS 2010

Venue

The workshops are held in our new unit, (10 Craven Nursery Park), a short distance from Skipton Town Centre.  Free parking is available, but there are limited spaces outside our unit, especially mid week, and priority will be given to disabled drivers.  Please do not park outside other units, further parking is available on the approach road to Craven Nursery Park.  Please see map for directions.  There is a ramp available for wheelchair access.  Class numbers are limited to 6 people.

Walking - If you are walking from Skipton Town Centre it will take approximately 15-20 minutes along a main road with flat walking (no hills!).  You do not need to walk to the roundabout/Business Park entrance, you can cut through Farm Croft as shown on the map (dotted line shown in blue) that is a short walk from the main road.  We are in Unit 10 which will be just to the left as you enter the business park from the path.

By Bus - Bus stops are shown on the attached map.  Follow the walking instructions above to cut through Farm Croft.

By Train - Approx. 1.5 miles from Skipton station.  If you wish to walk from the station, you will leave the station which is on Broughton Road, turn right and walk past Morrison supermarket.  Continue past Focus then turn right into Cavendish Street.  The road bears to the right and the name changes to Craven Street towards the end.  Turn right onto Keighley Road, (this is the main A6131 Keighley Road).  Follow instructions for walking.  This route cuts out walking to the town centre and is the most direct route to walk from the station.  Alternatively, taxis are available at the station.

Local Taxi companies - There are 5 taxi firms in Skipton. They all have cars with Hackney Carriage plates on the rear, drivers wearing ID badges issued by the local council, and meters that run at the same rate. Unless you've arrived at a really bad time, there will always be cars waiting on all three official taxi ranks:   On Swadford St, (front of the Co-op), in the Bus station, off Keighley Rd and outside the Train Station

Session Times

Morning session: 10.30am – 1pm

Lunch 1pm – 1.30pm

Afternoon session: 1.30pm – 3.30pm

The cost of each workshop is listed in the class descriptions for each workshop.

Tea and coffee provided.  Please bring a packed lunch.

Equipment to bring

If you prefer to use your own basic tools or wish to avoid sharing, if you have the following equipment it would be helpful if you could bring it with you, but it is not a necessity.

Scissors, cutting mat and craft knife, heat gun, ruler, pencil, rubber and paintbrush.  A notebook and pen to make notes would be useful, and if you wear them, don’t forget your reading glasses!

Some of the classes may get a little messy, so please don’t wear your best clothes, perhaps bring an apron just in case! 

Booking information

Some workshops require that you have previous experience of card making and are for those who wish to progress with further techniques and products.  Separate beginners workshops are available that will ensure a good start to your new hobby with lots of tips, advice and practice of the basic techniques.

If you wish to pay by cheque for your classes please send the completed booking form with your cheque made payable to The Stamp Man or enter the card details if you would prefer to book by post and pay by debit/credit card.  We will not be accepting bookings without payment in advance.  You will receive an order acknowledgment email if you book online but your booking will be confirmed later in writing or by email.

It is possible to book online and pay by credit/debit card. 

If you have to cancel, we will refund your money if you have given 2 week’s notice or if we can fill your place before the day.  If we need to cancel, we will of course refund your money in full.

As class numbers are small, please book early to avoid disappointment.
